What is Femininity?
If you were to google images that portrayed femininity you might see anything from cosmetics, high heels, cleavage, all the way to unmentionables. Nothing would accurately portray the nature and essence femininity.
Femininity is a set of qualities and traits crafted to harmonize with the female gender. These qualities or “tools”, made specifically for the female, enhance them with the ability to influence and “powerfully” change the human landscape around them. With these tools they can paint the world into better place. If used properly throughout life they can fill a literal gallery with beautiful art.
When looking back, in their aged years, women who embrace and utilize their femininity will overflow with a sense of fulfillment. Their fruit will remind them: Their life was not wasted.
Sadly, in the age we live in, deceptive philosophies have switched the road signs to a fruitful and fulfilling life. These signs take them on paths that don’t harmonize with their femininity. No matter how filled and eventful these paths may be they will not lead to ultimate peace and contentment. These wayward paths bypass the road of giving and nurture. They consider femininity a path of the lower, less educated, order treating it with shame and contempt. They discourage women away from this path of giving and nurture.
Their path of personal achievment and success promises glory but it is indeed a counterfiet and will not provide the investments of lasting value that endure through time and generations. They masquerade as roadways of success, fortune, fame, and even sometimes safety and security. The sojourner who travels these promise lined paths, will come to a dead end. A cold and sad valley named: Regret.
All of these exciting ways, and their dazzling promises only ask for one “small” concession: You must not let your feminine nature be a guide.
You must abandon it, This “lower” nature , they say, will hinder you from achieving your dreams. These “dreams” have the appearance of pure gold, but in reality, they are nothing but painted plastic. Not at all worthy of a life’s pursuit. When achieved and held they have no qualitative substance. These “plastic” dreams are encouraged by our culture, and unfortunately, sometimes by those we admire the most.
At first glance, the alternative choice to these beckoning paths and plastic dreams, does not appear to be rewarding or exciting. But slowly and surely as one chooses this course the traveler accumulates substantial rewards in her own heart as well as depositing lasting nuggets of value in the hearts around her. No to mention the peace and contentment that comes in working in harmony with your gifted- nature and not casting it aside or fighting against it.
Ironically, It is within the ranks of womanhood, that some of the loudest voices are heard. They discourage the feminine path. From tall cliffs of pride, the hopeless, fearful, and ignorant speak words of derision and shame, to the noble and few who chooses this singular path. They look with scorning eyes at the “simple.” Those who have chosen to “constrain” themselves within their divinely gifted nature. They encourage them to come to their senses, change their ways, and follow more empowering paths. Their motive is for you to become like them. For in reality the counterfeit never likes to be faced with the genuine.
Like an artist working with oil paint and brush, Women who work with their feminine nature, as their primary tool, can paint lasting masterpieces of art into the hearts and souls of the people around her. These people are her canvas. The paint is her nurture. The brush is her feminine nature. And Wah-la the world is changed to a place of beauty, hope, and warmth.
When this path goes untraveled, the walls of our home are left empty and cold, the warmth and beauty disappear.
These masterpieces of femininity, immeasurable in quality, priceless in value, are portraits of grace and love imparted to human souls. These portraits, unfortunately for the most part, are “hidden” from the eyes of the world. They are portraits etched into the hearts of those within their circle of influence.
Therefore it easy to feel discouraged and valueless compared to the BIG effects that are easily measured on the paths of fortune and fame. The Big effects of accomplishment, power, prestige, climbing to the top, being well known, making money are what we SEE as valuable. But are they? How much actual lasting value to these big accomplishments carry? Do they even make it much beyond the grave?
If I was to try and distill the essence of femininity into one word, that word would have to be the word: NURTURE. It is this unique ability that has been placed deep into the heart and psyche of every woman. Men are distinctly “unqualified” to nurture. Can they? well can birds walk? … Hmmm, well I suppose, but I would not say that they are very good at it.
Typically for a man to nurture he would need to read the “directions” and try really hard to come up with any sort of product that we could “hang on our walls”. Compared with the female whose very heart and soul flows from her fingertips onto the canvas of human souls when she applies her “nurture” instincts.
The female gender was chosen specifically to be the “inheritor” of this divine ability. Not just the physical ability to bear life from the most infantile stages but to literally bring “life” into a needy world around her. This was not a default function for those traits and behavior left over after men were designed. But instead a well planned and designed intentional internal work of an eternal being, to bring joy and fulfillment to her, and to those who have been touched by her femininity.
